Meet Keith McNeil, Service Advisor
2 Years Strong at H.K. Truck Center

Famous for being featured in H.K. Truck Center’s 2015 Christmas Card.
Spends his free time doing cross fit, riding his motorcycle on the track, and running like a bunny.
If given a million dollars, he would buy a house, travel the world a bit, and then come back to work at H.K. Truck Center!

On November 20, 2015, Keith ran in the Philadelphia Marathon. We had the opportunity to sponsor his running shoes. Why? Because we encourage sportsmanship, we support our team, and Keith’s situation inspired us.

His Story:
The Energy on the Philadelphia Marathon’s Starting Line: It was a chilly brisk morning in Philadelphia. The sun was just beginning to set on the iconic Rocky steps. At approximately 7:00 am, the waves of runners began and we were off. It was pretty incredible. 30,000 people all joined together with a common goal.

Reaching the Finish Line: Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after four long months of training motivated me to get across the finish line. Four days a week of hours and hours of running all for that single moment.

Keith’s Cause: I didn’t run for a particular cause, but people kept asking me “why would you want to run a marathon?”, insinuating there is something wrong with me for actually wanting to run 26.2 miles. There’s the typical reasons though. I wanted to see if I could. I enjoy pushing myself and my limits and what I am capable of. Then there’s the fact that there are some many people that can’t and you never know one day something can happen that would prevent you from being able to do something of this sort. A perfect example, three days before the marathon my brother was involved in a horrific car accident. He broke his back, neck, ribs and arm. Thankfully he can still walk, but so easily the things we take for granted that we do everyday can be taken away from us. So I ran, not for a particular cause but to show people that you can do anything you put your mind too.

Keith’s Motivation: My brother is what got me through. That and just wanting it to be over. The first half isn’t so bad, but after that it becomes tedious and grueling. That’s when it all becomes a mental game of pushing yourself through.
